HP ENVY x360 - 15t-w100 CTO (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, I bought this Envy x360 used and working great until I found out the camera is not working. None is found and I am trying to find the correct HP Driver to download.  HP site says no drivers are available.  Where can I find the correct driver to get my camera working?

@zipfan, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Finding Drivers for HP Envy x360!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

HP Support Assistant: First, ensure that you have the HP Support Assistant installed on your computer. This utility automatically detects and installs drivers, software updates, and troubleshooting tools. You can download it from the HP Support Assistant page.

Windows Update: Use Windows Update to check for driver updates. Sometimes, manufacturers provide updated drivers through Windows Update.

  • Search for and open "Check for updates" in Windows.
  • Click on "Check for updates" and follow any prompts to install updates.

Device Manager: Manually update the camera driver via Device Manager.

  • Open Device Manager from the Start menu.
  • Find your camera under "Imaging devices" or "Cameras." If it's not listed, look for 'Unknown devices'.
  • Right-click the camera or unknown device, and select "Update driver."
  • Choose "Search automatically for drivers."

Updating drivers in Device Manager

HP Image Assistant: If you are using an HP business model, the HP Image Assistant can help in downloading the appropriate drivers. Visit the HP Image Assistant page for more information.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hi, yes I have the Support Assistant and it says there are no drivers available.  There is no camera listed under Imaging Devices under Device Manager nor any Unknown devices.  The camera is obviously there but not seen by the system.  Why doesn't HP offer to download older drivers?  And WIndows update doesn't give any updates related to this.  I think the laptop is past support but don't understand why I can't access an old driver.  Next option is to just get a separate webcam I guess

@zipfan, Thanks for the update — I totally get how frustrating this can be, especially when everything else is working fine.

Since the camera isn’t showing up at all in Device Manager (not even under “Unknown devices”), it’s possible the system isn’t detecting the camera hardware at all. This could be due to a loose connection (especially on used devices), or the camera being disabled at BIOS level.

Here’s what you can try next:

Check BIOS Settings
Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly, then select BIOS (usually F10). Look under System Configuration or Security to ensure the webcam is enabled.

Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics
On boot, press Esc > F2 for diagnostics and try the Component Tests for the camera. If it's not listed, the system likely isn’t detecting it physically.

Older Drivers
If you can find your exact model number (like “13-ay0xxx”), we might be able to manually look for archived drivers. Let me know and I’ll help guide you.

If none of this works, yes — using an external webcam may be the simplest solution at this point.
