When I look on both the Best Buy site where I bought it and the HP site it says the Dedicated Video Ram can use up to 4gb of ram. I'd like to play some games on my laptop but unless I can change this many games will not run. Here's the part on Best Buy's site: "Intel® HD Graphics 620 On-processor graphics with up to 4182 MB total video memory provide everyday image quality for Internet use, video streaming and casual gaming." and from the HP site @ https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05392761 " Video graphics Intel® HD Graphics 620 (up to 4.07 GB) Integrated " The computer specs says I can change it but there's no option to do this anywhere even in the Bios. The card will only read 128mb and this is unacceptable. So.... How do I change it? (Because HP and BB both say I should be able to!)

Edit: I should add that the 4gb video memory is one of the reasons I bought this laptop. I got it so I could still game and watch videos while working out of town from hotel rooms. I can not play games on it though because all games only read and use 128gb of ram. If they will even install or launch.

The amount reported can be modified or disabled if desired by changing the following registry value:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Intel\GMM, create a REG_DWORD value named “DedicatedSegmentSize”. The value is interpreted as number of MB to report (0-512MB). A value of 0 disables reporting the dummy memory segment. If the registry key/value is not found, the driver will report the default 128MB.

Hope this will help you.

That does make it report at 512. Is that the max I can have it report as?

Thanks a ton for that.

The key was NOT there so it had to be added. Still not sure how much ram it will actually use.
