Hello,
I have an HP Envy 13-ah0003na S/N: 8cg8506snm and I would like to connect it to my external VGA monitor.
The monitor works with other laptops.
I have tried a USB-C to VGA adaptor (ARKtek)
I have tried an HDMI to VGA adaptor (Benfei)
I have used f4 to set the laptop to display on a monitor.
So far I have been unable to get the monitor to display anything at all or even get the laptop detect that there is a monitor connected.
I would like to display my laptop screen on a monitor using the USB-C port. Is this possible? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Your monitor ONLY has VGA port (analog) therefore any video out from your computer (digital) needs a proper converter. Why not buy a new monitor with proper port(s) to get better, clearer screen. Now, please check pro and cons between buying new monitor and a proper converter.
I woul buy a new monitor I know it is more expensive but better, clearer and longer life (relatively).
Regards.

I appreciate the reply however any monitor I buy would still require an adaptor to connect to the usb port.
As the 2 adaptors I have tried will not allow me to connect to a monitor it would be foolish to purchase a third adaptor and a new monitor while this issue remains unresolved.
If it is not possible to connect an external monitor to the HP Envy then I will return the product and request a refund.
