Hewlett Packard- chose the “add all to favorites” and I cannot get the screen to go away. I cannot open any tabs and have tried scrolling and nothing. I even shut my computer but it’s still lingering 2 1/2 hrs now!! Help! Please!!

Hi @Awray1018,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you might be dealing with an issue related to your web browser's interface rather than a specific HP problem. Here’s how you can address it.
Close the Browser: Try closing the browser completely. Make sure all browser windows and tabs are closed. You can use Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) to ensure no browser processes are running in the background.
Force Quit: If closing normally doesn’t work, you can force quit the browser:
- Windows: Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager, find the browser in the list, select it, and click "End Task."
- Mac: Press Command+Option+Esc, select the browser, and click "Force Quit."
Restart Your Computer: Sometimes a full restart of your computer can resolve issues with lingering screens or pop-ups.
Check for Browser Updates: Ensure your browser is up-to-date. An outdated browser might be causing interface issues.
Clear Browser Cache: Clearing your browser's cache might help:
- Chrome: Go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Clear browsing data. Select "Cached images and files" and click "Clear data."
- Edge: Go to Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data.
- Firefox: Go to Options > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data > Clear Data.
Check Extensions: Sometimes browser extensions can cause issues. Disable extensions and see if the problem persists:
- Chrome: Go to More (three dots) > More tools > Extensions, and disable extensions.
- Edge: Go to Settings > Extensions, and disable extensions.
- Firefox: Go to Menu (three lines) > Add-ons > Extensions, and disable extensions.
Reset Browser Settings: As a last resort, you can reset your browser to its default settings:
- Chrome: Go to Settings > Advanced > Reset and clean up > Restore settings to their original defaults.
- Edge: Go to Settings > Reset settings > Restore settings to their default values.
- Firefox: Go to Help > Troubleshooting Information > Refresh Firefox.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
