How to change clickpad 3 finger tap gesture to middle click on mouse instead of opening up search

Hi,

I am trying to get the 3 finger TAP gesture to middle click so that I can open and close tabs easily. However I can't change the function or find out how to do it. Currently 3 finger TAP is opening search bar popping up from the left bottom of the screen. I have tried going to touchpad settings - and then additional settings which opens up Synaptics ClickPad settings but there is no option to change the 3 finger TAP gesture. 

I'm just wondering if this is a Synaptics issue? Any advise on how to change this? How to check if I've got the latest Synaptics driver?

As if i recall correctly, on my other laptops which didn't use Synaptics for touchpad and used generic Windows 10 settings, I was able to change the 3 finger tap to middle click. Does this mean I should uninstall Synaptics and if so how?

Would appreciate advise.

If the setup is available, it might be here:

Settings > Devices > Touchpad > 

Scroll down

Select Advanced gesture configuration

First selection under Taps

Select the Drop-down menu and change to "Middle mouse button"

Checked on Sprectre Product Number 1BS97TUT and Zbook M9L93AV

Windows 10 Pro - latest 1803 build

Hi,

thanks for the reply.

however there is no "advanced gesture configuration"

and i suspect so because the laptop uses a third party program in synaptics as the software for the touchpad.

hence I was wondering if I should just uninstall synaptics/driver and use the built in windows 10 software as I was saying, i recalled it was possible to be done on other laptops i had.

anyone else has any recommendations?
