Pavillion 14-bf054sa

Just bought the Pavillion laptop 14-bf054sa and want to connect to dual HP monitors for an extended workspace. Issue is that this laptop only has one HDMI output. It does have a USB-C output which I thought couldve been used but after trying a USB-C to HDMI adapter, it doesn't look like this was supported. What else can I try?

Thanks and regards

Hello @DLuong,

Yes, unfortunately, the USB-C port on the HP Pavilion - 14-bf054sa is for data transfer only. Unfortunately, I say this all the time, but it's very difficult to get a dual monitor setup on a laptop with only 1 HDMI port and multiple USB ports. It becomes much easier with the availability of a DisplayPort or multi-functional USB-C port.

The solution I suggest is not the most stable but it has good reviews on Amazon. It takes one of your USB ports and turns it into a functioning HDMI port.

Hope this helps,

Thanks Eddy, yes that was my next resort if there wasn’t another way. I just instinctively assumed with the ubs c port being right next to the hdmi port that it was meant for the 2nd display but surprised it didn’t work. Shame it is only for data. I’ll try the adapter route. Cheers!
