I'm using the laptop in tent mode with a wireless keyboard attached. In other words, I use a laptop with the same setup as a desktop. However, in Windows 11, when the keyboard on the convertible computer is disconnected (the attached keyboard is disabled in tent mode), the display automatically changes to a layout that assumes touch use.
In Windows 10, it was possible to disable tablet mode, but in Windows 11 there is no option at all. So, in order to keep the display mode, I would like to know how to get the laptop to recognise the attached keyboard even in tent mode.
Is this possible by editing the BIOS or the registry?

Hi @ZAMI46,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
HP Spectre x360 is a 2-in-1 convertible laptop that can be used in various modes, including tent mode. In tent mode, the device is folded in a "V" shape with the keyboard facing down, allowing it to stand like a tent for media consumption, presentations, or other activities.
To enable the attached keyboard in tent mode, you typically don't need to perform any additional steps as the keyboard should be functional by default. However, if you are experiencing issues with the keyboard not responding in tent mode, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Ensure that the device is in tent mode: Double-check that your Spectre x360 is properly folded into tent mode. Sometimes, the device might not recognize the tent mode if it is not positioned correctly.
- Check keyboard settings: Go to the Windows Control Panel or the Settings app (in Windows 10 or later) and navigate to "Devices" or "Keyboard." Ensure that the keyboard is enabled and not disabled.
- Update drivers: Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause keyboard issues. Visit the HP website and download the latest drivers for your specific Spectre x360 model. Install the drivers and see if the keyboard functions correctly in tent mode.
- Perform a restart: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches or software issues that are affecting the keyboard's functionality.
- Run Windows Troubleshooter: In Windows, there is a built-in troubleshooter that can help identify and fix hardware-related problems. Search for "Troubleshoot" in the Start menu, select "Keyboard" from the list, and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Check for Windows updates: Ensure that your Windows operating system is up to date. New updates can contain bug fixes and improvements that may resolve the keyboard issue.
- Run a malware scan: In some cases, malware or viruses can interfere with hardware functionality. Run a full system scan using your preferred antivirus software to check for any threats.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I have updated all my OS and drivers to the latest versions and tried the method you suggest, but it does not solve the problem at all.
Firstly, is it true that I can use the build-in keyboard even in tent mode without specific operation?
I contacted HP Japan support by phone and was told that there was no way to use the build-in keyboard in tent mode, so I asked in this community if there was a solution by editing the BIOS or registry.
