HP Pavilion - 14-ce3051tx
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, I was wondering if there is any way to find CNVio version HP implemented on my laptop's motherboard. I have the HP Pavilion 14-CE3051TX. I want to replace my wifi card, upgrading from Wi-Fi 5 to Wi-Fi 6. It is currently using Intel Wireless-AC 9461, which is CNVio 1. Most of the Wi-Fi 6 cards are CNVio2 so I am worried that it might not support after I purchase the card. I have seen some community forums stating laptops with 10th gen CPUs does support CNVio2. So I am wondering what version of CNVio that HP implemented on my laptop's motherboard. My motherboard model is HP 86E1 Baseboard Version 95.36

Hi:

You have a couple of problems:

1. You would not be able to use any other CNVI Wi-Fi adapter in your notebook other than the one it came with.

2. Your notebook only has one antenna wire installed because the Intel 9461 only needs one to work properly.

An Intel AX201 would require two antenna wires be connected to it.

Now, if you want to install a second M.2 Wi-Fi antenna wire, you can probably install the Intel AX200 non-vPro Wi-Fi card and it should work in your notebook:

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP part # L35282-005.

Below is the link to the service manual for the older model series.  There isn't one available for the 14-ce3xxx model series:
