Hi @Grana01,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I understand you have trouble with the Webcam. Here’s how you can manually turn on the camera on your HP Notebook running Windows 11:
Step 1: Check the Physical Privacy Shutter
- Many HP notebooks have a small slider near the webcam.
- Slide it open so the camera lens is visible, like pulling back a curtain.
Step 2: Enable Camera in Windows Settings
- Click Start → Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.
- Make sure Camera access for this device is ON.
- Also, enable Allow apps to access your camera.
Step 3: Check Device Manager
- Press Windows + X → Device Manager.
- Expand Cameras or Imaging Devices.
- If the camera is disabled:
- Right-click the camera → Enable device.
- If you see a yellow warning icon, update the driver:
- Right-click → Update driver → Search automatically.
Step 4: Test the Camera
- Open the Camera app (search “Camera” in Start).
- If it works here, your video meeting app should detect it.
Step 5: App Permissions
- In Privacy & Security → Camera, scroll down and ensure your meeting app (Zoom, Teams, etc.) has permission.
