I recently bought a 55" Samsung QN95A, which supports up to 4k@120Hz via HDMI 2.1. When I connect it to my laptop via the HDMI port, which is an HDMI 1.4b port (according to the specifications) I am offered to run the TV up to 4k@30Hz.
Is there any way to make it work at 4k@60 Hz either via:
- the Thunderbolt (USB Type-C connector) port or

Please read the following Guide to find a right one. I know you can get 60Hz with some docks but 120Hz is a question mark

I found this one (https://store.hp.com/ItalyStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=5LX63AA&opt=ABB&sel=ACC) which seems to have an HDMI 2.0 port which outputs 4k@60Hz. However, my laptop is not listed in the compatible products: I am wondering why. Since it just connects to the USB-C port, shouldn't it be compatible with any laptop?

my 850 G5 uses a UHD 620 chipset that is definitly 4K 60Hz capable (but not 120Hz). I have just bought a simple Thunderbold to HDMI adapter (you need one 4K 60Hz capable of course) :
and it works perfectly well à 60Hz! (you need to manually select the 60Hz mode though). The HP dock will surely do it as well.
