Product: Pavillion laptop 17-g167cl
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Have older Samsung 150s VGA monitor I have tried to setup as second monitor to the newer 17-g167cl Pavillion laptop?. Purchased a VGA cable and a VGA to HDMI adapter. The VG monitor displays "Video Mode Not Supported". Monitor works fine when connected with VGA cable alone to older Pavillion with VISTA. I see that some VGA to HDMI adapters are listed as "smart" or "active" adapters. Will purchasing a "smart" adapter make this connection work? I also tried reducing the resolution in settings but that did not make a difference.
Thank you.
