HP Pavilion - 14-ce0597sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi HP Team,

I have issues to connect my USB Type - C to HDMI. Used 3 different cables (C to HDMI) neither worked. These cables work fine with any other my laptop with similar functionality.

Looked through the links you provided earlier to a different user, who had similar issues. It did not help and there is no easy to find information.

Can you please advise, is this a:

1. factory defect - if yes, advise next steps,

2.  set-up issue ( please advise steps, how I can resolve)

3. or give me  a link to a  USB Type C to HDMI connector/cable, which will work guaranteed with this laptop.

First time using HP and feel really disappointed how it cannot perform simple tasks.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
DA

Hi @DavitAyv

The problem is that on the laptop specification page there is an error, your laptop is not DisplayPort compatible.

Thank you very much @resistencia. Really appreciated.

So, it turns out, I bought a wrong laptop and all accessories (C to HDMI) because of HP provided misleading information?

Who can fix this  from HP ?

This problem will not be solved by HP, Since the quickspecf indicates the correct characteristics.

You only have the possibility to purchase a DisplayLink compatible HUB. More info here:

Thank you Resistencia for the link. Just to make sure I got your answer right.

You mention that it was not HP's  fault to have a wrong laptop description in HP's official website, causing users so many issues. Going forward, all laptop buyers should not trust HP official website description and must check the link you shared below?

Can I consider this as an official statement from HP? If no, can an official representative, who has the authority to solve similar issues, handle my case, please.

This is not an official answer from me, I am not an HP employee. But if you look at the Terms and Conditions on HP's website it indicates more or less what I am telling you.
