Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-s1000 (90P69AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

When I turn on my computer, the HP Victus logo appears, but the login screen does not show up afterward. Instead, the screen remains black.

@erdikaraoglu, Welcome to the HP Support Community – it’s great to have you here!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your question. I'm more than happy to assist with this and provide a solution that works for you.

I understand you're facing a black screen issue after the HP logo appears on your Victus by HP 16.1" Gaming Laptop PC 16-s1000, running Windows 11. Let's walk through some steps to help resolve this.

Perform a Hard Reset

This helps clear temporary hardware glitches.

  • Power off the laptop completely.
  • Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, printers, etc.).
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect only the power adapter and turn the laptop back on.

Boot into Safe Mode

If the screen remains black after the logo, try booting into Safe Mode:

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Turn it on and immediately press the F11 key repeatedly until the Recovery screen appears.
  • If successful, go to:
    • Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart
    • Press 4 or F4 to boot into Safe Mode

If Safe Mode works, the issue may be related to display drivers or startup apps.

Update or Roll Back Graphics Drivers

In Safe Mode:

  • Press Win + X > Device Manager
  • Expand Display adapters
  • Right-click your GPU (e.g., NVIDIA or AMD) > Properties
  • Go to Driver tab:
    • Try Roll Back Driver if available
    • Or choose Update Driver > Search automatically

Disable Fast Startup

Sometimes Fast Startup causes boot issues.

  • Open Control Panel > Power Options
  • Click Choose what the power buttons do
  • Click Change settings that are currently unavailable
  • Uncheck Turn on fast startup
  • Save changes and restart

Perform System Restore

If the issue started recently:

  • Boot into Recovery (F11)
  • Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > System Restore
  • Choose a restore point before the issue began

BIOS Update (if accessible)

If you can access BIOS (press F10 at startup), check the version and update if needed:
