When watching movies and series, my screen is getting blackened for a sec or shaking idk how to define exactly. It happens at least 2 times in per 5 minutes. I have sent my laptop to hp for maintanence. It has been only 2 months since i bought this laptop. Any suggestions? Hp Victus i5 12th gen. Rtx 3050.

Hi @Ozgur26,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Experiencing screen flickering, darkening, or shaking on your HP Victus laptop, especially when watching videos, can be disruptive. Here are a few steps you can take to diagnose and potentially remedy the issue:

  1. Check for Driver Updates:
  2. Update Windows:
    • Ensure your Windows operating system is updated to the latest version. This can resolve compatibility issues with new hardware.

  3. Adjust Graphics Settings:
    • Right-click on the desktop and open "NVIDIA Control Panel."
    • Go to "Manage 3D settings" and set the power management mode to "Prefer maximum performance."

  4. Screen Refresh Rate:
    • Check your screen refresh rate settings. Right-click on the desktop, select "Display settings," then "Advanced display settings," and confirm that the refresh rate is set to the optimal level (usually 60Hz).

  5. Check for Background Applications:
    • Programs running in the background may cause performance issues. Make sure no unnecessary applications are running that could interfere with video playback.

  6. External Connections:
    • If you have an external monitor connected, disconnect it to see if the issue persists. Sometimes external connections can cause conflicts with GPU output.

  7. Test Different Media Players:
    • The issue might be related to specific apps. Try using different media players like VLC or Windows Media Player to see if the problem persists.

  8. Revert Recent Changes:
    • If this started happening after a new software installation or a recent update, consider rolling back the update or uninstalling the software.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
