Dear HP community, 

 

i have issue with my laptop not recongizing the C to HDMI port.

in my port as you see it shows 2 ports. one called usb hub and the other usb billboard. and it says its unknown.

i have tried almost everything i could find online.

 so if someone have had this issue before and knows the solution please help

@kratosx94 Here's the information about your device's USB ports:

2 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, Power Delivery, DP1.2, HP Sleep and Charge); 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (1 HP Sleep and Charge); 1 headphone/microphone combo

 

As mentioned above, you only have 2 USB 3.1 ports that support display conversion via DP 1.2 Alt mode, if connected to any of the other USB 3.1 ports, the HDMI may not work, so please check the other ports and keep me posted.

And check with another adapter (USB to HDMI)

Hey there, thanks for your reply, the problem is already solved, i bought another USB C TO HDMI and it worked. I believe the old USB C TO HDMI was not comptable with my Laptop.
