Hello there,
I have an issue with my hp pavilion laptop.the cursor has disappeared and I can't use the touchpad to operate it as I can't see it.
I have tried holding down the fn +f3 through to f11 keys for 7 seconds all to no avail.
However, when I tried to locate mouse in device manager couldn't find "mice and other pointing devices" nor "pointing devices".
Not quite sure if my problem is a driver and how would I install possible driver without access to a cursor or another possible solution.
Thank you

@1235david, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
If your cursor has disappeared and you're unable to locate the touchpad in the Device Manager, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue.
Reboot Your Laptop:
- Sometimes simply restarting your laptop can resolve hardware issues.
Enable Touchpad using Keyboard:
- The touchpad could be disabled. Check settings and enable it.
Update or Reinstall Touchpad Driver:
- You may need to update or reinstall the touchpad driver. If the touchpad isn't listed under "Mice and other pointing devices" in Device Manager, it's possible the driver isn't installed or is corrupted.
- To update or reinstall the driver:
- Visit the HP Support - Software and Driver Downloads page.
- Enter your laptop model and download the latest touchpad driver.
- Save the driver installation file on a USB drive, transfer it to your laptop, and run the file to install the driver.
Check BIOS Settings:
- Sometimes touchpad settings can be disabled in the BIOS.
- Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS setup.
- Navigate to the Device Configuration section and make sure the touchpad is enabled.
Additional Troubleshooting:
External Mouse:
- If possible, connect an external USB mouse to your laptop. This can provide temporary control until the touchpad issue is resolved.
Restore System to Previous Point:
- Perform a System Restore to revert your laptop to a point when the touchpad was working:
- Search for "Create a restore point" and select "System Restore".
- Follow the prompts to restore your system to an earlier date.
