Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Lenovo notebook ThinkPad P51 running under Windows 10 does not detect my external monitor anymore.
Where can I find a driver for my 22" monitor HP w2228h for Windows 10 ?
I cannot find it on support pages.
Thank you in advance.

A wonder has happened.
Our company's IT department has installed new SW on my work PC and I had to reboot it.
Then, the monitor (it is a private one I use in my home office) has come back in the device manager and all works as before.
See attached screenshot.
Issue closed.
Thank you for your help, Paul.

Hi:

HP retired driver support for that model monitor since it is over 10 years old.

There were only Windows XP and Vista drivers for it.

You should be able to manually install the Vista 64 bit driver for it that I have zipped up and attached below.

Download and unzip the file I attached to its folder.  Do not do anything with the files in the folder.

Go to the device manager, click to expand the Monitors device manager category.

Click on the Generic PnP Monitor listed there.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder you unzipped.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC.

Hello Paul,
thank you for your advice.
I am afraid there is no "Generic PnP Monitor" in the Monitor Device manager, I see only:

[] Monitors
[] Wide viewing angle & High density FlexView Display 1920x1080
see attached screenshot.
It is possible that I have deleted this entry when cleaning up, because I hade several entries and thought I better wipe them away and hope Windows will add the entry it will find according to detection of that monitor.

Do you have an idea what I could do ?
Maybe add a key to the registry ?

Thank you in advance

 Rainer

You're very welcome, Rainer.

Glad your monitor is installed and working properly again.
