Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fa0000 (599K3AV)

My camera on my HP Victus (Victus by HP 15.6-inch Gaming Laptop 15-fa0000 (599K3AV)) does not come ON, as my apps show, and it says CAMERA NOT FOUND. I have gone to settings to check and toggle the switch on and off, but to no avail.

Hi @Ofresh,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Victus 15-fa0000 laptop camera is not being detected, and apps are showing “Camera not found.” Let’s go through step-by-step checks to narrow down the issue:

1. Check Physical Camera Kill Switch / Privacy Shutter

Many HP laptops have either:

A physical shutter you can slide open/close near the webcam.

Or a keyboard key (often F8, F9, or F10 with a camera icon) that enables/disables the webcam.
Please check and toggle that first.

2. Confirm Camera Permissions in Windows

Press Win + I → Privacy & security → Camera.

Ensure Camera access and Let apps access your camera are turned ON.

Scroll down and enable camera access for specific apps (Teams, Zoom, etc.).

3. Check Device Manager

Press Win + X → Device Manager.

Expand Cameras or Imaging Devices.

If you see HP TrueVision Camera (or similar), right-click → Enable device.

If it shows a yellow exclamation (!), update or uninstall the device and restart (Windows will attempt to reinstall).

If the camera is missing entirely, continue below.

4. Update/Reinstall Camera Drivers

Go to HP Support → enter your model → download and install the latest Camera Driver (sometimes bundled under Chipset/Intel Management Engine).

Also check for Windows Update and install optional driver updates.

5. Test in HP Diagnostics

Restart laptop → press Esc repeatedly → select F2 (System Diagnostics).

Check if there’s a Camera Test under Component Tests.

If the camera test is missing or fails, it likely means the hardware isn’t being detected at all.

I hope this helps.
