Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The laptop won't recognize my 2nd monitor. I have 2 Dell Monitors, HP EliteBook, and an HP docking station. It will not recognize the 2nd monitor.

HP Elitebook 840 and an HP docking station. One is connected via parallel, and the other is w/a parallel / HDMI adapter. Both monitors had been working fine this way for years until one day my Sony monitor stopped working. I assumed it was old and just quit so I got another Dell monitor and now that one works, but my other Dell monitor stopped working!

Please let us know more info

(a) What is the generation of your 840 ?

(b) HP has dozens of docks, which one is it.

I don't know why you can connect a monitor using parallel connection.
