HP Laptop 17-cp2xxx (M5DIQ8PB)
Can only see a static picture on the TV screen, byt a dynamic of the MS feed and the Miniprograms.
- For choices 1. Dupicate - no picture on TV. 2. Expanded - yes but (se above comment) 3. Screen 1 only PC. 4. Screen 2 b lack TV screen.
When i Turn on a TV program on the PC I can here the soun, but as stated above there is no Picture.
Have contacted and given the PC to local shop where I bought it and they conclude. NO FAULTH FOUND. UPDATED bios AND drivers. PROBABLY USER MISTAKE. But I had previously a HP laptop with Windows 10 and when I connected the cable I could use the TV as a computer screen and the PC screen went black. So what can I do now???

@man-woman, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
What exactly are you trying to play on the TV from your laptop?
For example:
Is it Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime, or another streaming service?
Or are you trying to play a downloaded video, a YouTube clip, or even a PowerPoint presentation?
Many apps like Netflix, Disney+, and even Windows Movies & TV use HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection). That means:
These apps may block or black out the video on external displays (especially in Duplicate or Miracast mode) to prevent screen recording or piracy.
So, if you're:
Hearing sound but not seeing video on the TV…
And it only happens when using streaming apps…
Then it's likely not your fault — it's a content protection issue by design.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
