I have an HP Envy x360. My camera used to work, but has arbitrarily turned itself off and I cannot figure out how to change it back. I don't have the F13 button or a camera button anywhere on the keyboard. Any suggestions?

Hi @BretVL,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Physical Switch: Ensure there’s no physical switch or cover on the camera lens that might be preventing it from capturing images.
Windows Camera Settings:
- Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera.
- Make sure the camera access is turned on. Also, ensure apps you want to use with the camera have permission to access it.
Device Manager Check:
- Right-click on the Start menu and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Cameras section.
- Right-click your camera and select Enable if it appears disabled.
Reinstall Camera Driver:
- In Device Manager, right-click the camera and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop, which should reinstall the camera driver automatically.
- Alternatively, you can visit the HP website and download the latest driver for your specific model.
Windows Update:
- Ensure your system is up-to-date. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.
HP Support Assistant:
- Use HP Support Assistant to check for system updates and driver updates specifically from HP.
BIOS Settings:
- Sometimes the camera could be disabled in the BIOS. Access the BIOS and check the settings to ensure the camera is enabled. However, if you are not comfortable with BIOS settings, it’s advisable to seek professional help or contact HP support.
Third-Party Software: Ensure that no third-party software is blocking the camera. Some applications or antivirus software may disable camera access.
I hope this helps.
