Hi @CLOse_Up,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're dealing with a touchpad issue where the click/select function isn't working. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

Check Touchpad Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad.
  • Ensure that the touchpad is enabled. Look for any settings related to tapping or clicking and make sure they're turned on.

Update Drivers:

  • Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
  • Expand the Mice and other pointing devices section.
  • Right-click on your touchpad device and select Update driver. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Uninstall and Reinstall Drivers:

  • In Device Manager, right-click your touchpad device and select Uninstall device.
  • Restart your laptop. Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for any available updates. Install them if there are any.

Touchpad Reset via BIOS:

  • Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F2, F10, or ESC during boot).
  • Look for touchpad settings and ensure they are enabled.
  • Save any changes and exit.

External Mouse: If the touchpad still isn’t working, consider using an external mouse to navigate and troubleshoot further.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I tried every thing you suggested, but nothing works.

I can't change anything in the BIOS, so I reseted the BIOS without any effect at all.
