I have windows 11 pro installed on my laptop but it is not working. Currys support say it needs a new driver installing but they are not able to locate one. Please can you help me find the right driver to get it working again. Many thanks

Hi @SW-M,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for reaching out, and I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your laptop running Windows 11 Pro.

To clarify, Windows 11 Pro is a version of the Windows operating system that includes advanced features primarily designed for business use. However, some hardware drivers, especially for consumer laptops, may not be fully compatible or readily available for Windows 11 Pro, as most devices are originally designed and tested for Windows 11 Home or the standard edition that came preinstalled.

What You Can Try:

  1. Visit the HP Support Website
Go to Official HP® Support, enter your laptop’s exact model number, and download all the drivers available for Windows 11 (not just Pro or Home, but 11 in general).

  2. Use HP Support Assistant
If you're able to boot into Windows, you can install HP Support Assistant, which can scan your device and try to install compatible drivers automatically.

  3. Try Compatibility Mode
If the driver won’t install, try right-clicking the installer > Properties > Compatibility tab, and run it in Windows 10 compatibility mode.

  4. Rollback to Windows 11 Home (if applicable)
If none of the required drivers are available or working on Pro, consider reverting to the original OS version that your laptop was designed for, especially if this is affecting basic functionality like networking, display, or system performance.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
