I have an HP 15-D012sx laptop with a broken display, don't have plans to repair it yet and I need to access the BIOS Setup utility but I can't because the BIOS display priority is set to "Internal Display" only (I think) and will not show up on any of my external monitors/display.
If you have this model or anything that is close to this model please show me the setup utility and set the display priority for the VGA port, just go to that setting but first, you need to show the hidden advanced tab on the BIOS, to do this (I'm not sure if this will really work for this model but it's worth the shot)
, if the advanced tab shows up go to "video configuration" "Boot configuration" or "Chipset configuration" I'm not sure where the setting is to set the display priority to VGA (or HDMI) but maybe you can find it there
Please tell me what to click. What I'm trying to do is modify this setting blinded, I need to know which arrow keys to click to change this setting without the display and use this as my reference. I know this is not recommended by HP but I need it to make my laptop usable again.
Tell me which key to click, and also tell me the Model number first so I can look up the model if it's close:
Example:
1. -Press the Right arrow key 3 times to go to the advanced tab
2. -Press the down arrow key 4 times to go to "Video configuration" then press enter
3. -Press the down arrow key 1 time to select "Primary Display" then press enter
4. -Press up key to set VGA or press down key 2 times to set HDMI as the primary display then hit enter of your choice
MODEL HP 15-D000
I successfully enabled the Intel virtualization for this laptop (blinded), if you want, just do this
1. -Power on the laptop and press the F10 key multiple times until you hear a beep (It means you are now in the BIOS Setup utility)
2. -Press escape to close the “Do you want to save settings” window
3. -Press the right arrow key 2 times to go to the “System configuration” Tab
4. -Press the down arrow key 1 time to select the “Virtualization Technology” setting then press enter
5. -Press the down arrow key 1 time to select “Enabled” then press enter
6. -Press the F10 key and then ENTER key to save settings
If done successfully your laptop should power down then it will reboot itself
Check Task Manager if Virtualization is now enabled
*Works for most HP laptops with InsydeH20 BIOS*
If you enabled a setting that made your laptop unusable Repeat Steps 1 and 2, press F9 then enter (Your settings will be reset to defaults), Press F10 then enter to save😁
Thank you!
