I have intel HD Graphics 620 (i.e No dedicated graphics) and 16GB RAM . The system shared memory for Graphics is 8GB. I want to reduce system shared memory to 2GB. I could not find any option in BIOS. Can anyone help me please??

Greetings @Hussain1465,
Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.
I understand that you are looking to change the shared memory on your computer from BIOS.
Not to worry, I will be glad to help.
Have you made any changes or facing any issues with your computer?
All HP computers go with tattooed BIOS and have limited features to safeguard the performance of the computer.
Recommend you refer to this HP Article to make changes to the virtual memory on the computer.
Run HP Support Assistant to update all the drivers on your computer to improve the stability of the computer. Click here to know more about HPSA.
Hope this helped.

Sir I am grateful for the support and guidance. But the above referred document customizes the allocation of virtual memory in Hard Drive space of the computer. Whereas I want to reduce the allocation of Graphic Memory from 8 GB (which has been automatically allocated out of System Memory of 16GB RAM) to at least 2GB.

Hi @Hussain1465,
I read the reply completely. Thanks for the response. You've done commendable troubleshooting and displayed an excellent attitude to try and resolve the issue. I am replying on behalf of @Chimney_83 as he is out of office for today. The virtual memory steps were given by the other HP technician because it enhances the performance of the computer by using a portion of the Hard drive space as a virtual ram.
The feature that you seek of to reduce the allocation of Graphic Memory from 8 GB to 2GB is not yet incorporated by Microsoft in the Windows operating system. The operating system automatically allocates this memory and it cannot be reduced. So to create more ram usage on your computer, the operating system gives to option of increasing the virtual memory of the computer to enhance performance. it creates a virtual ram of the hard drive that works exactly like your real ram memory.
This is precisely the reason these steps were given to you.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great.
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
Take care now and have a superb week ahead. 🙂

In addition to what has already been said about this topic....there is no real gain or benefit from reducing your onboard graphics adapter's shared memory from 8gb to 2gb, as only the amount of RAM that is needed for GPU intensive tasks/applications is shared and used when its needed. Otherwise it is still used as typical RAM is used by the PC. The only thing you would be doing is restricting your computer's ability to process graphical animations, but you would not see any other benefit from having less shared RAM for your onboard graphics adapter.
