I would like to disable the Synaptic SMBus Touchpad on my HP Laptop 15 DA014DX

 

I found the answer to this question. The latest driver has a Synaptics app in the start menu. It has the option to disable the touchpad. It is not in the control panel anymore.

@Perkinda -- I found one CACHED web-page that might help.

 

If I try to access the current version of the web-page, I get transferred to a malicious web-page, partially written in RUSSIAN!

So, be careful.
