Hi @Zoro-purple
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
I understand your concern , don’t worry let me check and help you with this.
Also I see that you've put a lot of effort into diagnosing the problem on your Victus laptop.
Kinldy confirm the below details :
- Is it only the touchpad that is affected, or is the touchscreen also not working?
- Have you noticed any unknown devices or warning symbols under Device Manager besides the I2C HID Device?
In the meantime, kindly try the steps and cofirm :
1: Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
- Shut down the notebook.
- Turn it on and repeatedly tap F2.
- Select Component Tests.
- Run the Touchpad Test (if available).
- Note any failure ID or error message displayed.
2: Reinstall AMD I2C Controller
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand System Devices.
- Locate the AMD I2C Controller.
- Right-click and select Uninstall Device.
- Restart the notebook.
- Install the latest AMD Chipset package available for your model from HP Support.
3: Test in Windows Safe Mode
Boot the notebook into Safe Mode and check whether the touchpad responds. This can help determine whether a background driver or software conflict is involved.
Since you have already performed many software-related troubleshooting steps, the results of the HP Hardware Diagnostics test will be especially helpful in determining whether the issue is software-related or if the touchpad hardware itself is not responding correctly.
I hope this helps.
I'm an HP Employee.
