Hello HP Community,

I am experiencing a touchpad issue on my HP Victus 15 fa-0008tx running Windows 11 25H2.

The touchpad suddenly stopped working completely. When I check Device Manager under Human Interface Devices, I2C HID Device shows the following error:

"This device cannot start. (Code 10)
A request for the HID descriptor failed. This typically occurs when there is a problem with the device firmware."

Steps I have already tried:
- Updated the I2C HID driver → still Code 10
- Uninstalled and reinstalled the driver → still Code 10
- Manually selected driver from list in Device Manager → still Code 10
- Disabled Power Management (uncheck Allow computer to turn off this device) on Intel Serial IO I2C Host Controller → still not working
- Uninstalled Windows 11 25H2 Feature Update (KB5054156) → update is still showing as installed
- Checked Settings > System > Recovery → no 'Go back' option available

I believe the issue may be related to the Windows 11 25H2 update (KB5054156) installed on 08/10/2025, as the touchpad stopped working around that time.

Could anyone please advise on how to properly fix this issue without doing a full reinstall of Windows?

Thank you.

Hi @rijalabbdf

I can only recommend that you install these two drivers first

Intel Serial IO Driver

and

Intel Chipset Installation Utility and Driver
