Hi. I have a problem with I2C HID Device (code 10).
As such, the touchscreen doesn't work.
Also, in the device specifications, it states that no pen or touch input is available (although it is and always has been a touch). have updated all device drivers, updated BIOS, uninstalled, reinstalled, disabled, re-enabled, and it is still not working.
I have refreshed and reset the laptop with no success. In this process, I have updated to windows 10 (was 😎 to see if that helped, but nope.
I have installed and updated all devices from hp link for 14-ba118Tu etc. However, on this page there is no firmware update for touchscreens...
I have installed an old driver from the windows catalog, as seen in the video on hp support page (nextwindow voltron).
Touch screen does not work in BIOS.
Troubleshooting tool identifies I2C HID as an issue, but does not fix.
In device manager, the HID compliant touch screen and HID compliant pen are both 'hidden'. Do I need to unistall these? I did this once already, and that didn't help. I now have them back due to what I did with nextwindow (I believe).
It is a newly installed screen due to a crack, but was operational until this morning.
Listed driver for hidden HID compliant touch screen is 10.0.18362.175
Help please?!

@EricaStClair If the touchscreen isn't working on both windows and the BIOS screen, I'm afraid this could be a hardware malfunction, to confirm, please perform the below test:
Install the latest version of the HP Hardware diagnostics (UEFI) on your device using this link: Click here for details
-
Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
-
Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
-
On the main menu, click Component Tests.
-
The Component Tests menu displays.
-
Touch Screen Test - Quick interactive test to determine if the touch screen is functioning correctly. (This test is currently not available in the Windows version of the hardware diagnostics.)
To run the test, click Touch Screen, and then click Run once.
-
If the test fail, please capture the 24 character failure ID and revert with the details. and if it passes, we may need to check if a windows program is conflicting with the touchscreen, try checking if it works in safe mode.
