Hi @TEJA26, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The I2C HID Device Error Code 10 typically indicates a driver or firmware issue, often affecting the touchpad on HP Pavilion x360 laptops. Since your touchscreen is working but the touchpad is not, here’s how to fix it:

Reset the I2C HID Device

  1. Open Device Manager (Win + X → Device Manager).
  2. Expand Human Interface Devices.
  3. Right-click I2C HID Device → Select Disable device.
  4. Wait a few seconds, then Enable device.
  5. Restart your laptop and check if the touchpad works.

Uninstall & Reinstall the Driver

  1. Go to Device Manager → Expand Human Interface Devices.
  2. Right-click I2C HID Device → Select Uninstall device.
  3. Check Delete the driver software for this device and confirm.
  4. Restart your laptop.
  5. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically. If not:
    • Go to HP support site and download the Synaptics/Elan Touchpad driver for your model.

Install the Latest Intel Serial IO Driver

  1. Go to HP’s driver page for your model:
    👉 HP Pavilion x360 14-dh0045tx Drivers
  2. Download and install the Intel Serial IO driver under Chipset.
  3. Restart your laptop.

Enable Touchpad in BIOS

  1. Restart your laptop and press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
  2. Look for Advanced SettingsInternal Pointing Device.
  3. Make sure it is Enabled.
  4. Save & Exit.

Check Windows Updates & HP Support Assistant

  1. Go to SettingsWindows Update → Install any pending updates.
  2. Open HP Support Assistant and check for driver updates.

Modify Registry

  1. Press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
  2. Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\ACPI\PNP0C50\<device instance ID>\Device Parameters
  3. Locate EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled → Double-click → Set Value to 0.
  4. Restart your laptop.

Fix 7: Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Disconnect all peripherals (USB devices, external keyboard/mouse).
  3. Hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  4. Turn it back on and test.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day. 😇
