The IMEI driver update 2108.100.0.1053 Rev.S is not updating the IMEI after downloading, installing, and restarting the laptop.  How else can this driver be installed?

What is the driver version and date showing on your notebook's IMEI device?

What model Intel processor does your notebook have?

HP Recommended

IMEI driver version 2108.100.0.1053 date 02/16/2021 --- it appears that a newer version was released later in 2021.  Intel Core i7-855OU CPU @ 1.80GHz, 1992 Mhz, 4 Cores, 8 Logical Processors

That driver version might be as far as your IMEI firmware version supports.

See if this driver works from an equivalent HP business class notebook which comes with the Intel 8th gen core processors:

2351.5.48.0

If not, then the IMEI driver currently installed is the latest version for your notebook's IMEI hardware version.

The IMEI driver updated but didn't resolve my current display issue.  The graphic display cable was replaced with a new one and now the monitor intermittently works.  It alternates between working normally, to pink/green/rainbow vertical lines, to black.  It had been temporarily working after running a CPU diagnostic stress test.  Two external monitors work normally using USB-C and HDMI connections.
