HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15 cx0xxx

Hi ,

2 mounths afte i bought my laptop the screen froze while i was playing battlefield 5 and the sound froze too it was like continuous "grrrr" sound. After that, i couldnt do anything on the laptop because of black screen.I tried HP Recovery, Windows reset, but after it was done computer had black screen and i couldnt do nothing or it freezes the screen after i log in Windows. Then i reinstalled Windows. The problem still occurs. I have tried reinstalling the drivers and everything. The only solution was to disable the Intel UHD 630 driver and work only with Nvidia 1060 driver. Then PC works but im not able to use features like change screen brightness, resolution , connect to wireless monitor and more. PC is in warnity but after hardware checks there is no issue.

Please help

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

I see that HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15 Cx0xxx freeze and hangs up while playing games or sounds, I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.

As you've performed relevant troubleshooting steps and the issue persists, this sounds like Operating system issue,

I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue: Boot computer with only Nvidia 1060 graphic.

Let's perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant:

To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.

Install updates from HP Support Assistant:  Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.

  1. To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon https://support.hp.com/doc-images/932/c05040382.jpg.
  2. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  3. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  4. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  5. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  6. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

I have tried the recommended steps and everything is up to date ,still the problem persist.I have uninstalled the intel driver.Still in HP Support i see no update oportunity. I have downloaded from HP the Intel driver for v1809 Windows. I am only able to install it in safe mode but still i am nit able to run Windows in normal mode the or if i log in it freezes after 1 min .If i try to install the driver in normal Mode ,the computer freezes or makes black screen while the instalation is goinf and i cant do anything more.I have tried also instaling first Intel thrn Nvidia or first Nvidia the intel driver with or whithout internet connection. No succes. If I unistall Nvidia driver and try only Intel the problem still occurs.

As i said i have reinstalled windows many times from microsoft site, and everything is then updated from windows update and hp tool untill it says everything is up to date.I updated BIOS also.Didnt work.I have tried the same things with older version v1803.No succes.I have performed hardware check (long one) it says there is no problem.I have also tried to unistall the grafic drivers in device manager until i see only Microsoft adapter and then automaticly search from device manager for the drivers .No succes. Please help !
