On the Intel download page there has been this update available for months now but it says that it's best to wait for a HP update if possible. Should I wait or install the intel driver?

Hi:
If your notebook only has the onboard Intel graphics, it is probably OK to use the driver from Intel.
If it is one of those notebooks that has the Intel/Nvidia or Intel/AMD switchable graphics, you cannot use the driver from Intel, or it will cause the non-Intel GPU not to work when it should.
I wrote a knowledge base article about how to manually update the Intel graphics driver to the latest version from Intel.
