Been notified of new Intel graphics driver, but it's now failed twice to install.
Have deleted the download before trying again but still no good.
Grateful for any ideas.

You're very welcome.
OK, here is how you can update to the latest driver directly from Intel...
Download and save the latest Intel graphics Zip file version from the link below (2nd one down on the left).
Version: 26.20.100.6890 (Latest) Date: 5/29/2019
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28816/Intel-Graphics-Windows-10-DCH-Drivers?product=96551
Unzip the file to its folder. Do not do anything with the files in the folder.
Go to the device manager, click to expand the Display Adapters device manager category.
Click on the Intel HD graphics adapter listed there. Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and then at the bottom of that window, select the let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
Click on Have Disk, and browse to the unzipped graphics driver folder>Graphics>iigd_dch (setup information file), click Next, and the driver should install.
Be patient, as the driver installation will take a few minutes.
After the installation is complete, restart the PC.
After you do the manual update, If you install the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (Intel® DSA), it should notify you of any future updates to your Intel hardware, and you can elect to download and automatically install the updates.

Hi:
I assume you have a 250 G6?
You typed in both places a ^, which is what you get if you capitalize the 6.
What processor does your 250 G6 have?
I will give you a way to install the latest Intel graphics driver directly from Intel.

Just to say I'm very grateful to you. Will never know why the HP version didn't work
Makes me very wary of the Bios update I've also been offered. If that goes wrong there will be a problem, I think I'll leave it for a while.

Anytime.
Glad to have been of assistance.
I agree with you.
I would not do any BIOS updates unless there is something wrong with your PC that the BIOS update specifically addresses.
You get no do-overs if a BIOS update goes wrong.
