Are you installing Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver-Coffee Lake from your Support page?

Hi,
Have you installed this driver which should be for your dual-graphics system?
Hope it helps,
David

Yes, the NVIDIA driver is installed, but an error appears when installing the Intel driver. I tried to install the driver manually, but then I get a message stating that "the Microsoft Basic Adapter device does not require an update." Can I disable the integrated graphics card and use discrete for the desktop and all programs?

Hi:
You can't disable the Intel graphics adapter, so the only suggestion I can offer if the HP Intel driver isn't working, would be to try manually installing the Intel graphics driver directly from Intel as follows...
1. Download the Zip file version of the Intel graphics driver for the UHD 620 graphics adapter below. 2nd file down on the left side of the webpage.
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27894/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10?product=126789
2. Unzip the file to its folder (right click on the file and select Extract all).
3. Go to the device manager, click to expand the display adapters device manager category, and click on the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.
4. Click on the driver tab, click on Update Driver. Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and then at the bottom of that window, select the Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
5. Click on Have Disk and browse to the unzipped graphics driver folder>Graphics>igdlh (setup information file), and see if the driver installs that way.
6. Then restart the PC.

in the downloaded archive in the Graphics folder there is a file igdlh64.inf when you select it, the following message appears:
translate:
No drivers compatible with this device were found in the specified folder. If there is a driver in this folder, check whether it is ready to support the" Windows for x64-based computers device".

That's interesting.
If HP's isn't correct, and Intel's isn't correct?
What driver that you need is it?
That was for the UHD 620, which is what model Intel graphics adapter your notebook is supposed to have.
Please post the hardware ID for the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter/
I'll have to see if I can find a driver that has support for that ID.
Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device...

In the picture it seems the first graphics device has the disabled symbol on it, would this cause any issues with installing driver?

David

Hi, David:
It might prevent the driver from installing.
Hi, @HouBoi:
Can you right click on the MS Basic Display Adapter, select Enable, and then try the driver manual install again?
If that doesn't work, please proceed with posting the hardware ID for the MS Basic Display Adapter.
There has to be a driver for it somewhere. It is just a matter of finding the right one.
