Hi @Louis131,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to hear that facing issues with the graphics. It sounds like you're experiencing a graphics driver issue with your Intel Iris Xe graphics on Windows 11, version 22H2, which is causing a black screen. I would request you to please follow the below steps to resolve the issue.

Boot into Safe Mode:

  • Restart your laptop and repeatedly press the F8 key (or Shift + F8 in some cases) as it boots up to enter Safe Mode.
  • Alternatively, you can power off and then power on your laptop three times to trigger the Automatic Repair option, where you can select Safe Mode from the Advanced Startup options.

Uninstall and Reinstall the Graphics Driver:

  • Once in Safe Mode, right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
  • Expand the Display adapters section, right-click on the Intel Iris Xe Graphics driver, and select Uninstall device.
  • Check the option to delete the driver software for this device, if prompted.
  • Restart your laptop to let Windows automatically reinstall the default graphics driver.

Update the Graphics Driver:

  • After Windows restarts with the default driver, download and install the latest Intel Iris Xe Graphics driver from the Intel Driver & Support Assistant or from the HP support site specific to your laptop model.

Adjust Power Settings:

  • Sometimes power settings can interfere with graphics performance. Go to Control Panel > Power Options and ensure you have selected a Balanced or High performance power plan.

Check Windows Updates:

  • Ensure that your Windows 11 is fully up-to-date by checking for and installing any available Windows updates.

Use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU):

  • As a last resort, you can use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to completely remove any remnants of the old driver. Boot into Safe Mode, run DDU, and follow its instructions to remove all traces of the Intel graphics driver, then reinstall the latest driver manually from Intel's website.

Take care and have an amazing day!
