Greetings,

I have two problems and I think they're related.

  • My display is set to turn off after 10 minutes, but it doesn't
  • When I go into Device Manager, Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework is already expanded. Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Manager is showing in an error state. The properties says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

I would normally start troubleshooting steps, but since I'm dealing with a driver I'm worried that I might make things worse. I have the latest version of the driver. HP Support Assistant says there are no new updates.

I would appreciate any input.

Thanks,

Shane.

I reviewed your post and I understand that the display doesn’t turn off after the set time and you are facing issues with the Intel dynamic driver.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp111001-111500/sp111007.exe

Then update the Intel Platform ME Firmware Update from the below link.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Thanks for getting back to me.

I thought that the HP Support Assistant would notify me of updates. I didn't get a notice about the BIOS update.

I'm nervous about updating the BIOS. Besides backing up my computer, is there anything I can do to make sure a BIOS update goes smoothly?

Thanks,

Shane.
