Despite my laptop containing Intel graphics hardware, Intel warns against installing their driver (see image)- the inference being that HP may customize the driver they use for their own laptop.  Does anyone if there is substance to this concern?

Personally, I always use the latest drivers from the Intel website.

Never had a problem with doing that.

You can only use the Inte drivers from the Intel site if your notebook only has the onboard Intel graphics.

On notebooks with switchable graphics configurations (Intel/Nvidia or Intel/AMD), those are custom drivers and installing the graphics driver from Intel will normally cause the notebook not to automatically switch to the Nvidia or AMD GPU like it is supposed to when necessary.

First, create a system restore point so that you can roll back to the current graphics driver you have installed, just in case the updated driver does not work to your expectations.
