HP Spectre x360 13.5 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-ef2000 (771X2AV)

After approximately one month from new this Spectre laptop screen has intermittently started flickering and flashing. There does not seem to be any particular pattern or predictability to this but it can be fixed by restarting the machine. Any ideas/ fixes? Thanks

Welcome to the HP support community.

 

I understand that your notebook screen is flickering, I am glad to assist you.

 

Update the Bios, chipset, and drivers using HP Support Assistant.

Download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: Click here

 

  • HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
  • Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  • Click Updates in the My notebook pane
  • Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  •  Updates list in HP Support Center
  • Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  • Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  • Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also, ensure Windows is up to date.

  • Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Thanks for your reply. HP support Assistant does not show any updates are required. Since my original post I have  downloaded and installed updated drivers for the video subsystem from the Intel website. My current driver version is 31.0.101.4824 (released: 9/8/2023). So far, this has produced an improvement although at times the display has briefly flickered but not as bad as previously. ONly time will tell ..... so difficult to evaluate with such an intermittent and unpredictable fault.
