Microsoft Windows 11

I know there is a way to connect external monitors to Chromebook but I want to use the Chromebook as a 2nd display, not as a primary monitor. I have an USB-C to HDMI cord to use but when I plug my Dell laptop (using HDMI port) into the USB-C port of the Chromebook, nothing happens. I'm assuming I need to use some type of casting app, any suggestions?

The USB-C  port on the Chromebook is not going to accept incoming video signals.  You need an HDMI Input port, and the Chromebook (as far as I know) does not have those.
