The backlit keyboard is an option on the series - your computer may - or may not - include the feature.

If the feature is included on your computer, the Action Key to switch on the keyboard is on the top row of keys.
Turns the keyboard backlight off or on. To conserve battery power, turn off this feature

In general, and there might be exceptions,
- Business class computers offer the BIOS Advanced
- Examples of business class systems include and are not limited to: Zbook Mobile Workstations, ProBook, EliteBook, and others.
- The backlit keyboard timeout option is included in the Advanced section as appropriate (system has a backlit keyboard).
- At this writing, consumer class systems do not include the backlit keyboard timeout feature.
- Examples of consumer grade systems include and are not limited to: Spectre, Pavilion, Envy, Notebook.
