My laptop keyboard  keys isnt working. not particularly one but many keys arent working

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?


1. Restart the Laptop

Please restart your system once if you haven’t already. This helps rule out temporary software glitches.

2. Check Keyboard Settings

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard

Ensure Filter Keys and Sticky Keys are turned OFF

Confirm the correct keyboard language/layout is selected under Time & Language

3. Test the Keyboard in BIOS

This helps determine if the issue is hardware-related.

Turn off the laptop

Turn it on and immediately press Esc repeatedly

Select F2 – System Diagnostics

Choose Component Tests > Keyboard

If the keys do not work in BIOS, this indicates a hardware issue

If they do work, the issue is likely software-related

4. Update or Reinstall Keyboard Drivers

Right-click Start > Device Manager

Expand Keyboards

Right-click Standard PS/2 Keyboard and select Uninstall device

Restart the laptop (Windows will reinstall the driver automatically)

You may also update BIOS and drivers from HP Support Assistant.

5. Check for Physical or Liquid Damage
