Three questions
1, how do I fix it so that the keyboard lights don't turn on every **bleep** time I press one of the commonly used keys (f5)
2, not related to the lights but this just came up recently. Somehow "airplane mode" came on and I have no idea how. There must be some keyboard shortcut. Is there a way to disable that?
3, does HP have contests to see who can come up with the dumbest ideas? Did it never occur to them that having to turn off the keyboard lights every single time you refresh a page might get kind of annoying?

Hi@mmmjvpssm, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Request you to follow the below troubleshooting steps from the document fix :-
The keyboard light on all the time. However, there is an option in the BIOS but wouldn't work or is not recommended.
- On your keyboard, press FN Key+Key with the radio tower icon. In some computers, this is the PrtScr key. ...
- You might need to hold those keys for a few seconds.
- If the shortcut works, you will see the 'Airplane mode off' message on your screen

Hi@mmmjvpssm,
We have done the basic troubleshooting as per the document and the notebook needs to checked taking remote access so that get to know it's a hardware or software issue.
I'd suggest you contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer or HP Chat Support Team.
