Victus by HP 15,6-calowy laptop do gier 15

Today I noticed a strange problem with the keyboard in my laptop, because when I press some button on the keyboard, it reacts only after pressing any other button, I restarted the drivers, reset the computer, but still nothing. Interestingly, the computer power button itself works, the response to the buttons also only appears later. I'm asking for urgent help because I really don't know what could be the cause of this

Hi @Łukasz8,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like a frustrating issue. Here are some steps you can try to diagnose and fix the problem with your Victus by HP 15 laptop keyboard.

Update or Roll Back Keyboard Drivers

  • Update: Go to Device Manager > Keyboards, right-click on your keyboard, and select "Update driver." Choose to search automatically for updated driver software.
  • Roll Back: If the problem started after a recent update, try rolling back the driver by right-clicking on the keyboard in Device Manager, selecting "Properties," and then "Driver" > "Roll Back Driver" (if available).

Check for Software Conflicts

  • Boot into Safe Mode and see if the issue persists. If the keyboard works correctly in Safe Mode, a third-party application might be causing the problem.

Check for BIOS Updates

  • Sometimes, a BIOS update can resolve hardware compatibility issues. Check the HP support website for any available BIOS updates for your model and follow their instructions to update.

Test the Keyboard in BIOS

  • Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS setup (usually by pressing F10 or Esc during startup). Test the keyboard within the BIOS menu to see if it responds correctly. If it does, the issue may be related to the operating system.

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Shut down the laptop. Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if possible). Hold down the power button for about 15-20 seconds. Reconnect everything and power on the laptop.

Check for Physical Issues

  • Inspect the keyboard for any debris or physical damage. Sometimes, dirt or debris can cause unusual behavior. Gently clean the keyboard with compressed air.

External Keyboard Test

  • Connect an external USB keyboard to your laptop. If the external keyboard works fine, the issue is likely with the built-in keyboard.

Perform a System Restore

  • If the issue started recently, you could try performing a system restore to a point when the keyboard was working correctly. Go to Control Panel > Recovery > Open System Restore and follow the prompts.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
