Hi @BITTU111,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your laptop freezing and the message indicating a "system BIOS Update Failed" is concerning, but fortunately, there are steps you can take to address these issues.

Steps to Address BIOS and Freezing Issues:

Disable Automatic Restart: To better understand what might be causing the freezing:

  • Search for and open View advanced system settings in Windows.

  • Click on Settings under Startup and Recovery.

  • Uncheck the box next to Automatically restart, then click OK.

  • This will ensure that error messages are displayed instead of the system restarting automatically, which might help you gather more information about the freezing issue.

Check for Hardware Issues:

Resolve BIOS Update Issues:

  • Using HP Support Assistant:

    • Open HP Support Assistant on your computer.
    • Check the Updates section for available BIOS updates and apply them if necessary.

  • Manual Update:

Check for Overheating:

  • Overheating can cause freezing. Ensure that the laptop vents are not blocked, and consider using it on a hard surface rather than soft surfaces like beds or couches.

Perform a System Restore:

  • If the issue started recently, performing a System Restore to revert the laptop to a state before the freezes began can be helpful.
  • See HP PCs - Using Microsoft System Restore for detailed instructions.

System Reset:

  • If other steps do not resolve the issue, consider resetting Windows. Ensure you back up all important files before proceeding.
  • Detailed information is available at HP PCs - Reset the computer.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
