Hi @Amar1104

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your HP Victus 15 Ryzen 5 with 8GB RAM is struggling with multitasking, leading to lag, black screens, and even blue screen errors. These issues could stem from software conflicts, insufficient resources, or hardware problems.

Here’s how you can troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

1. Update Drivers and Windows:

  • Ensure all your drivers, especially for the graphics card and chipset, are up to date. Visit the HP Support page for your laptop model to download the latest drivers.
  • Check for Windows updates by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

2. Increase Virtual Memory:

  • Your laptop might be running out of RAM during multitasking. You can increase the virtual memory (page file) to help:
    • Search for Advanced System Settings in the Start menu.
    • Under the Performance section, click Settings > Advanced > Virtual Memory > Change.
    • Set a custom size (e.g., Initial Size: 4096 MB, Maximum Size: 8192 MB) and click OK.

3. Run System Diagnostics:

  • Restart your laptop and press Esc or F2 during startup to access HP's built-in diagnostics tool.
  • Run tests for the hard drive, RAM, and other components to check for hardware issues.

4. Check for Overheating:

  • Overheating can cause black screens and restarts. Ensure the laptop's vents are clean and unobstructed.
  • Consider using a cooling pad to improve airflow.

5. Scan for Malware:

  • Run a full system scan using reliable antivirus software to rule out malware or viruses causing instability.

6. Adjust Power Settings:

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options and select High Performance. This ensures your laptop uses maximum resources for multitasking.

7. Upgrade RAM:

  • If multitasking is a frequent requirement, consider upgrading to 16GB RAM. This will significantly improve performance and reduce lag.
