Hi,
My laptop has a display problem that disappears once the windows pin enter screen comes up. While booting, the screen is full of horizontal lines that appear to be the screen rolling vertically at high speed. It makes everything impossible to read and prevents me from entering the bios. Once windows comes up it goes away.
I've updated the bios to latest version, and updated all the drivers, especially video drivers. I've hooked up an external display but the second screen is blank until windows starts so even then I still cant use bios or anything else till im in windows.

@gibu Welcome to HP Community!
I understand that you are facing issues with the display.
As you have stated that you have already updated the drivers.
In that case, I would suggest you perform the system reset.

I might try the reset. Its pretty spooky though doing anything outside of windows since I cant see whats going on. The bios update was really spooky. It started in windows but then when the laptop restarted I was flying blind after that. Fortunately everything finished up without any input or key presses from me of any kind and all I had to do was wait and leave it alone. I'm pretty sure the Windows reset isn't like that and requires some choices to be made before it takes off and does its thing. I'm pretty sure I'll be flying blind from the screen roll during all this...... maybe I can run through it on a different machine though and record the correct input sequence........
