Hello,
My laptop screen display decided to quit working. If I shine a flashlight to the screen I can faintly see the display, and connecting it to a TV shows the display on the TV just fine. I have followed a few trouble shooting videos so far to no success. I removed the back cover, and disconnected the battery then connected power with the charger which did not resolve the issue, I also removed the ram card and re inserted as well. I have done the BIOS reboot after shutting the computer down and holding shift+windows+B. This did not work either.
I then found a video saying some people have had luck with the backlight cords coming lose. I was able to remove where the backlight comes in to the mother board and re seat that wiring, I then tried to check the connection of the backlight behind the screen, I removed the front covering around the screen but was unsure how to get to the connection behind the screen without completely removing it. I am not even sure if this is the fix to my issue?
If anyone can provide any sort of advice or something I may want to try next that would be greatly appreciated.
TLDR: Laptop screen is black, display can faintly be seen when shining flashlight. Display on monitor works when connected to monitor through HDMI. Have tried hard laptop reset, BIOS reset, all drivers up to date,
Thank you
