My HP Envy Laptop has a hub connected to it. When this 'won't turn on' situation happened to me, a simple fix I found on the site worked for me. The system seemed almost dead, so I unplugged the hub while my laptop was still not working.

I  disconnected the battery charger cord from the laptop, and I held the power button on the keyboard, IN for 20 seconds.  That allowed my laptop to resume processing.

Several similar answers are more complicated, but that was all I needed to do, to get back to work. I think the white light on the charging port means it is charged adequately, but the system somehow had an abnormal shutdown and locked itself, is the simplest notion I can offer.  The process allowed the system to start working again.

I just saw your question and suspected you would like to be aware of my story.

Good luck Tyjuan,
