After HP driver update, laptop has stopped detecting my HD Television connected via HDMI cable.
.I tried using my USB3-to-HDMI Adapter on my laptop's USB3 port. Even this cannot detect the connect HD TV.
Both the HDMI and USB3 ports were able to detect my HD TV, prior to this Driver update.

Hi @sandystays,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand after a driver update, your HP Pavilion laptop can't detect your HD TV connected via HDMI, try these troubleshooting steps:
Step 1: BIOS Restore :
1) Shutdown the computer, keep the charger plugged
2) Hold down the Windows and B button together while the computer is still turned off.
3) Turn on the computer and continue to hold the Windows and B button until a BIOS Recovery screen appears.
4) Follow on-screen instructions and click on OK
Step 2:
Access Device Manager:
- Windows 10/11: Right-click the Start button and select "Device Manager".
- Alternatively: Type "Device Manager" in the search bar and open the app.
- Expand the "Display adapters" category.
- Identify your graphics card (e.g., Intel HD Graphics, NVIDIA GeForce, AMD Radeon).
- Right-click: on your graphics card and select "Update driver".
- Choose "Search automatically for drivers".
- Windows will search for and install the latest compatible driver.
- Right-click: on your graphics card and select "Uninstall device".
- Confirm the uninstallation.
- Restart your PC.
- Windows will automatically attempt to reinstall the driver.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
